Larry H. Miller Honda Murray
Dealership Sales Review
My wife, 5 year old daughter, and I were detained for 6 hours trying to buy a car at Larry Miller Honda today. Our sales person Carlos did as good of a job as he could but the sales manager Tyler was impossible to work with. We already had an offer from another dealership a little further away from us, and I just wanted to see if these guys would match it and work with me on throwing in the wiring harness for towing or at least splitting the cost. They agreed to the price but tried to sneak in an additional $800 destination fee which was already included in the previous quote. Luckily we caught that and sent the offer back and Tyler came back accepting the quote we came in with but only offering to give us $7.50 off the price of the $282 wiring harness...why even bother?! He would not budge but we figured oh well the location of this dealership was what motivated us to come here anyways, lets just buy the car and be done with it. We arrived at the dealership at 11:30 and at the time we shook hands on the deal it was probably 1:30. By about 4:30 I was losing my patience and temper that they hadn't finished the paperwork or whatever they needed to do when my salesperson comes to me and asked if I had contacted someone via internet requesting a quote. I said yes that I had but he screwed it up and gave me a quote on an odyssey instead of the Pilot EXL as I had requested. But he said we might not be able to do the deal now because I had contacted that person! Now irrate and out of paitience I went into the sales managers office and asked what the heck is going on here. He did not care that we had already been in the dealership with a 5 year old girl for 5 hours already and said blundtly that we picked one of the busiest days of the year to try to buy a car (memorial day) and that we didn't have to stay and wait that we could leave and go buy the car somewhere else if we wanted to. He said we should have known it would take a long time today, and he only had one finance guy here working. Well I had no idea it would take so long and if they were expecting to sell a lot of cars they should have had more finance guys there working. He couldn't have cared less what we had been through already. I wanted SO badly to leave but was not going to go through this process again, I just wanted the paper work done and to get out of there. I feel bad for my sales guy as he was truly trying to do everything he could for us. He even pulled money out of his wallet and went and bought our daughter some candy out of the vending machine. But the wait was unexcusable...we had been there for 6 hours before we pulled away. And before we could pull away they had to jump the battery in the car. Horrible Horrible experience and I will gladly drive further to deal with a different dealership next time. DO NOT waste your time with this ungrateful, unprofessional dealership if you value your time at all. I forgot to mention that as we were going through the paperwork with my salesman, one of the booklets was already filled out and dated in Feburary 2013 by a different buyer. When I requested a new booklet so that it didn't look like I was the second owner of this new car Tyler told my salesman to tell me that I could buy one. Just thought that was another telling example of the unprofessionalism that I experienced by this sales manager and another example of why I will never return here to purchase another vehicle.
