Gillman Honda of San Antonio
Dealership Sales Review
In the Fall of 2014. the Pentagon Federal Credit Union was offering a 0% interest rate to members who purchased a new car from a dealer participating in their program. In San Antonio, TX, one participating dealer was Gillman Honda. I took the PFCU price sheet to Gillman, who said they didn't have any Accord Hybrid cars that weren't fully loaded with all possible options (and a price tag of $40k). Apparently, the demand was so high in the first few months after the Accord Hybrid's release that Honda and its dealers didn't feel the need to sell lower priced versions (the one I was looking for was about $28k). I told them I was in no rush, and could afford to wait until production caught up with demand. Called back every few weeks to see if the car was available, and was told it wasn't. After about 5 months, Gillman says they couldn't possibly sell me the car at the price negotiated by PFCU. I decided to walk out at that point and went to Jordan Ford, who was happy to sell me a Fusion Hybrid at the PFCU price. If I ever decide to buy a Honda again (we previously had a Prelude that we were very happy with), it will NOT be from Gillman.
