Cavender Toyota
Dealership Sales Review
I don't want this to sound like anything other than it is, so I'll include the active link here: http://www.cavendertoyota.com/truck-specials.htm so anyone who wants to test this can. So I saw this great add for a new 2014 Tundra (MSRP $46,048) for $11,000.00 off! What a great deal! So I called and talked to a new car salesman (you can ask any of the salesmen - it's the way these guys are trained to do business) and he guaranteed me that this truck (only one of course) was sitting right outside his window and it was not sold. "Come on down" he says. So I made a called to my buddy who is helping me to locate a Tundra and asked him to check it out for me. He in turn called Cavenders Toyota and asked for a new truck sales person and was told "Yes, it's sitting here and is available - come on down!". Well he was only 5 minutes from the dealership and so he drove their immediately. And when he got there, he asked the 1st salesmen to approach him about the $11,000.00 promotion truck and again (3rd sale man now) he was told "Yes! Come on in and let's get some information...". Well it all went as you can imagine from here, and ultimately he was finally told that "THERE IS NO TRUCK HERE FOR THAT PRICE", and "LET'S GO LOOK AT ANOTHER ONE". Well then the next interesting thing was just as you would imagine "No, I'm afraid that "WE CAN'T SELL YOU THE TRUCK FOR THAT PRICE". Not even another truck on the lot with the same MSRP of $46,048!!! What a complete waste of time!!! We were both very clear in asking about this truck before we wasted any more time or energy on this, and we had 3 different salesmen play the same game with us. Look = I'm doing this because I think something has to be done to let them know that this is not the way to handle your customers. This is known as BAIT & SWITCH and it's against the law. So - if you're looking to buy a truck, I would feel that my wasted time at least has helped others to understand that CAVENDER'S TOYOTA BELIEVES THAT THEIR CUSTOMER'S ARE IDIOTS AND WILL FALL FOR THE BAIT & SWITCH TACTICS that they employ. Please try this for yourself before you go. Matter of fact - call them from the parking lot and ask about the specials then walk in a confront them. I doubt anyone wants to be treated like this.
