Dealership Service Review

2.3 out of 5 starsservice Rating
Worst service facility I have used in my 48 years of driving
Written by larryb5 on 05/31/2010

I developed a very shrill brake squeal in Feb 2010 on my 2007 Colorado. I took it to Bert Ogden and was told that my rotors were scored & it was not covered by warranty. I only had 31000 miles on it. I went back home and e-mailed the dealership where I bought the truck in Wisconsin & they assured me it was covered. I made another appmt at Bert Ogden and asked to speak with the service mgr. He agreed to make the repairs under warranty. I left the truck there at 11am on Mar 2. I called back at 5pm and they said they had to send the rotors out to get them resurfaced. I called at noon on Mar 3 and they said the rotors weren't back and they would send someone to get them. I called again at 4pm and they said I could come over and get it as it would be done shortly. I got there at 4:30 and it wasn't done. When they took the rotors off they had damaged the sensors and the brake warning lites wouldn't go off. They said they would get it fixed tomorrow and call me. When I hadn't been called by 4pm the next day, I called them and was told it was done. When I got there I found that they had had to replace the sensors on both wheels because they had damaged them removing the rotors. My wife and I made plans to return to Wisconsin for the summer on Sunday, Apr 4th. We had reservations in Branson, Mo. for a few days and then had tickets for a baseball game in Milwaukee on the way home. On Wed, Mar 31st, the brakes started growling so I made an apptmt at Bert Ogden for 8am Thur Apr 1 to see what was wrong. I took it in and asked to speak to the service manager, a Mr. Pete Garza. I told him that I needed the vehicle back by Friday because of the reservations we had on the way home. He assured me that he would watch the progress personally and keep me posted. I never heard from him again. When I hadn't heard anything by 4pm on Thursday, I called and was told that they had to get a part for the right front calipre (I found later that this also was damaged while re- moving the rotors). They told me the part would be there Friday and they would call when done. I called numerous times on Friday because I was so concerned that something else would go wrong and each time I was told they would call me back. Finally, at 3:30 pm I was told that they had sent them the wrong part and they couldn't find the correct part anywhere nearby. They said they had ordered one from Houston (400 miles) and one from Dallas (500 miles) hoping one of them would be there by Monday. So I had to cancel the reservations in Branson and throw away the Milwaukee baseball tickets. They finally got the brakes repaired on Monday and I was able to leave on Tuesday. All in all, my truck spent the better part of 10 days at Bert Ogden to re-surface a pair of brake rotors. I probably could have gotten them fixed at Midas in an hour or two.
