Dealership Sales Review
I was thrilled with my relationship with my salesman (Jermaine) - he was honest and low pressure (I dont respect or appreciate high pressure tactics). He answered all my questions with what I felt was honesty and without the typical hype. We did most of the deal via text because I had a broken jaw and talking was painful. I found him to be a great asset to the dealership. Once we had agreed on a price and a car things went downhill FAST. Once they get you into financing, the tactics change radically. No more low pressure. No more "friends helping friends" mentality. Now its all about the money. Went into financing with a price I was satisfied with. Right out of the gate the financing rep added on over $50/month in extras that I "needed" (he was just looking out for me - I know this because he kept telling me about how he was just looking out for me). When I told him I didnt need GAP coverage (included for free with my insurance) he got visibly annoyed. When I explained that I didnt need an extended warranty (1: I own a shop, and 2: I rarely keep cars more than 3 years) his entire attitude changed. Through playing "the game", I finally got the price to within $5 of the initial agreed upon price - but it took over an hour and required me talking a LOT (broken jaw was no longer something they cared about - go figure). I will end up cancelling the extended warranty after I make my first payment just on principle. The end result was they took a relaxed, low stress sale and turned it into a high stress, high pressure game that it simply didnt need to be - I was ready to buy the car, so why push so hard? Their prices were fair and their selection is great, but buyer beware - they will push you harder than any other dealer I have dealt with in the last 6 years. (In the last 6 years I have bought cars from Dallas Dodge, Holt FIAT, Allen Samuels Dodge (new and pre-owned) and Five Star Ford.)
