Dealership Sales Review
I placed a hold on a Forester on the 11/11 and filled out Credit App to hold car. The car was to arrive later in the month and I would purchase between 12/8 and 12/13. On the 13th I was told the car wass ready. Went down to purchase and after looking at the VIN the car was not the car we agreed to. Did not even have the same options. We where pushed to purchase the car and they would add the option later. Now that might have been okay but to attempt to sell a different vehicle trying to pass it off as what we agreeded is just wrong. Sales manager came in and said some to the affect that "this is just business". Made no attempt to reslove the issue attitude was totally "take of leave it". Well we left it. Hard to believe that in this day and age (repetuable??) car dealers would treat customers this way. In the four week period I made contact several times with the dealership. I took 3 trips from Fort Worth to Denton only to be slapped in the face and insulted thinking they could sell me a lesser vehicle for the price of a more expensive model. The worst part is the lying and attempting to commit fraud, instead of being forthright and hones. Makes one wonder about the follow up service. All I can say is keep your records including your VIN number to be able to validate your purchase. I have retained all the emails and text messages so they had no wiggle room. I am back at square one.
