Van Hyundai
Dealership Sales Review
My wife & I were looking for a midsize sedan and Sonata is one of our choices. We stopped by this location last Saturday as this is the closest Hyundai dealership from our house. We walked into the showroom (first thing that we noticed was the very warm temperature inside) and everyone was looking at us but no one was bother to to greet us nor offered help. A few moment later, a sales guy appeared, so I told him that I wanted to look at the Sonata and asked if they have any available on the lot. He said yes and invited us to his office and started asking me for my home address, email, and phone number and make a copy of my driver license before we have a chance to even see the car. This entire get-people-information-for-future-calls pre-sales process took about 15 minutes and then he started asking me what kind of Sonata trims that we were looking for, so I asked him what do they have available, and he said they have them all. I told him that we would like to take a look at the 2.4L SE style, at that point, he finally decided to get off his chair and took us out to the lot; the lot was half full and on the way to the lot, he offered to sell us a demo model, I looked it over and told him no. So we proceed to the only one that they have on the lot (the rest were turbo and hybrid) and I asked for a test drive, he suggested that I will test drive the demo one. I said to myself that it would be okay since I never drive the Sonata before, that should give me a feel on the handling, comfort, and performance. So I agreed. The drive was pleasant and the vehicle's performance, handling, and comfort level was excellent. We went back to his office afterward and I asked him for some cold water as it was 104 degree outside and about 85 degree inside the office, and i was told that they ran out the water bottles. My wife told me that they have a water dispenser in the breakroom, so I went to the breakroom and saw a whole bunch of tiny ants crawling on top and around the dispenser, I was so thirsty and thought I could just get some water from it without any foreign object, I would be okay. It turned out that was my wishful thinking, ants were swimming in my cup. Needless to say, my thirst got no prayer. Now, we talked numbers, he gave a quote from the sticker price of the other vehicle that I didn't test drive and suggested us to do a jumbo financing so that we can get the $1800 rebate and pay off the loan in a week of two later (I told him that we pay cash for the vehicle). We asked him if this is the best he can do and also asked for a copy of that offer so that we can sleep on it, we were told that we can't have that piece of paper even though that was the sticker price. He then went out and came back with a sales manager and the guy offered us $200 off the MSRP while at the same time chewing tobacco in his mouth. He also told us that the $1800 rebate is a mistake, it was only $1500. At that time, I was very thirsty and hot and didn't believe that these people would help us broker a deal, so we left and will never set foot to this dealership again. It's shame a good product being distributed by a sub-par dealership.
