Dealership Sales Review
I bought a 2014 Nissan Versa from International Auto Outlet on 12/31/2022 for what I considered a great price. Unfortunately on my way to work on the following Tuesday the transmission started to have issues. I knew the Nissan CVT transmissions were prone to issues before buying it but had no issues on the test drive and with the car having 108,000 miles on it I took the risk. With this know issue in mind, I took the car to the local Nissan dealership and got it diagnosed. I received a quote from Nissan that stated there was a code in the vehicles computer and based on the code and the issues it was having I needed to have the Valve Body replaced and the computer updated with the newest software at a cost of just under $2000. I was a bit shocked at the price but since I had just purchased the car and it had the code for the transmission issue in it that was not disclosed at the time of purchase I called International Auto Outlet. At first they seemed to be willing to help and asked for the quote and told be they would reach out shortly with a resolution. I was later informed that they wanted me to bring the car into their service center. I asked what the plan was because I didn't want to bring the car there with out knowing what the potential results would be as it would have to be towed almost 50 miles. They didn't have any answer but I was told the Sales Supervisor might know so I asked to talk to them. I was told that they weren't there at the time but they would call back. I never got a call and when I called the Sales Supervisor was again not there. I have yet to get any call or explanation from the dealership. I can't say that they for sure knew about the transmission issue before selling the car but I'm sure I could ask Nissan for the history of codes in the vehicle's computer and find out. I think that it is very poor customer service to allow such an issue with no resolution and leave a customer on the hook with a $7500 car that can't drive.
