PSA-ADDS BOGUS OPTIONS AS STANDARD PRACTICE

PSA: BUYER BEWARE!!!!! Bought a 2022 Trailblazer at this dealership a month ago, cash deal. Third car at this dealership. I was cleaning my car out and found the sticker from window. Then was comparing to my contract. Under options it had $648, $299 and $799. Nothing next to it. Since it is under base price of vehicle and no other options were offered or explained, you would assume these are factory options. Called and spoke to Sales manager Paulie and he tells me the $648 was for rubber mats, the $299 was for nitro plan for tires, that their own service department across the breezeway sells for less than $50 a year, and the $799 is a protection coating. I said I never agreed to these items, but he was going to refund me $648 for the rubber mats. Next thing I know, they said the $648 was for some rear end safety light that beeps 3 times before someone rear ends you! So basically, they claim these are standard options that Marine Chevy adds themselves on 95% of THEIR cars except commercial vehicles (Sales manager Daniel told GM rep). Funny thing is for something THAT IS STANDARD, they didn’t even know what the charges were on my contract and sales manager got it wrong! Plus, the customer has no idea what they are getting, how to use it, or the alterations that were made to their vehicle. Bottom line is they add $1746 of useless and frivolous options without your knowledge to every vehicle that is not commercial because you are buying at Marine Chevrolet Cadillac and this is STANDARD. Being a retired Marine, I fear the young Marines are getting screwed over. This adds additional $30-50 extra per month if financing depending on your % rate. Seems fishy to me! Do yourself a favor and go to the Swansboro dealer or somewhere else that doesn’t use this ruse adding extra unnecessary options to make money because according to them, this is STANDARD. Left 2 messages for the General Manager and GM left him a message and no call backs. That must be STANDARD too! Pass the word!
