Dealership Sales Review
I'm a fairly regular Nissan lease customer and needed to replace an expiring 2020 Rogue lease. After shopping a couple local dealers, a bit closer to home, I decided to make the trip to Bob Johnson in Henrietta. The issues I had locally were pricing (of course) and low-ball trade values for my existing vehicle. Yes, you can trade a leased vehicle and receive equity, albeit in this case only to a Nissan dealer. The online experience, trade value assessent (KBB tool at their site) and initital contacts all went very well. When I arrived at the dealership I was instantly greeted by Bill Treadway in sales, and shortly thereafter by Tom, a sales manager. They wasted no time assessing my vehicle for trade-in value, and it was actually slightly higher than the KBB quote I received from their web site. At this point, I'm already thousands ahead of those other dealerships. Next I examined a couple of vehicles I was interested in. I was given full disclosure lease terms and options-- full disclosure means I wasn't simple quoted a payment, but details needed to verify lease calculations for any comparably vehicle. The sell price was significant discounted from MSRP and incentives (3) were all applied without question or negotiating. I received a far better price and far greater trade-in equity than I'd been quoted at two Nissan dealerships closer to home. I selected the desired vehicle and lease terms, and Bill assisted with the online credit app, which was instantly approved (already preapproved by Nissan Finance). I returned to the dealership 3 hours later to take delivery of the new 2023 Rogue. Again, the signing process was electronic-- iPad-- streamlined and straight forward. There were absolutely no added sales pitches for rust proofing, extended warranties, etc. This is car buying the way it should be. I'll be back.
