Riverhead Hyundai
Dealership Sales Review
The Riverhead experience. After requesting online quote and speaking with Paul Ventimiglia, who quoted me a price of $17,400 flat plus tax and tags because there were no dealer or other fees. According to Paul "they don't play those games". My wife and I, equipped with a copy of the email, went to the dealership ready to buy the Elantra. First mistake, saw salesman who informed me "Paul" was assisting another customer. Having never met Paul, and seeing the guy he pointed out as Paul helping another customer, I dealt with an Indian salesman(did not get this gentleman's name.) He proceeds to quote me a price of $18,400, a bit more than a had expected (lol). I told him I had a copy of an email with a $17,400 price and proceeded to show him. He said he would be right back. The gentleman comes back, and sure enough, he tells me "Yes the car is $17,400" and shows me the bill of sale. Yup $17400 on the first line of bill of sale, but wait, what's this? $1,235 in dealer and other fees. Seems they do play those games. Again I insisted on paying only the price I was quoted. Gentleman leaves and returns with the "Big Boss", Vito, who informs me ( as if he is doing me a favor) the lowest he can go is $17,700. Not quite the $17,400 I had in the printed out email I had brought with me. The email, by the way, was no where to be seen. After an hour and a half wasted, not to mention $4+ per gallon of gas, we went left feeling extremely disappointed and frustrated. Take this for what is is worth, it is all true. Happy car hunting (good luck if you go to Riverhead)
