Royal Subaru

I live in Ithaca, and used Edmunds to solicit price quotes from local dealers. I had decided on the vehicle and options I wanted, how I would pay for it, what delivery timescale I wanted, etc., and put this all in the Edmunds request to the dealers. I had also done my homework on dealer cost, using Edmunds and the $14 Consumer Reports service. I requested that dealers contact me by email. Royal was the only dealer that responded to my request in a proper and professional way - by email, with a quote for the vehicle I had requested. Moreover, the quoted price was extremely fair, based not only the invoice but also on dealer holdbacks and incentives. When I engaged Royal in a more detailed conversation, every aspect of the advice they gave was sensible - no hard sell. What about the other local dealers? I got a barrage of phone calls - that I had said I didn't want. I got a barrage of emails, not one of which included a quote for the vehicle I requested. When I replied and asked for a quote, I was told to make an appointment, or else given a quote on another vehicle that was in stock and that I didn't want. Overall, my internet buying experience with Royal in Cortland was exactly what I wanted - transparent, fair and professional. I wish they sold other stuff!
