Plaza Kia
Dealership Sales Review
BEWARE!!! Plaza Kia is involved in fraudulent activity and forges contracts. In May 2015, I cosigned a lease for my sister and she was able to leave with the car (2016 Kia Sorento) that day. 3-4 months later my sister was contacted by Plaza Kia's finance managers, Thomas Brescia and Stephanie Gamba. She was not called in to sign any contracts but instead was asked to make a payment to the dealership, despite having already made 2 payments to Kia Motor Finance (leasing company). My sister contacted Kia Motor Finance to discuss if she should be making additional payments to Plaza Kia dealership and was advised that her financial obligation is to Kia Motor Finance once the lease was signed. My sister notified Stephanie Gamba of this and was never called/threatened for payment again. In July 2016, my sister called Kia Motor Finance to get details on the contract and end date for lease. The representative asked if she signed several contracts because the contract that she was referring to was not accepted by Kia Motor Finance. The representative informed her that Plaza Kia dealership had to generate a new contract which they received and was accepted on July 3, 2015 with signed signatures from both my sister and I, dated for May 31st, 2015. On May 31st, 2015, sister was not in NY! She and her husband left NY on the night of 5/30/15 via the new Kia Sorrento to Georgia, as they had to be in Georgia to sign their lease for their new home which was done on 6/1/15. My sister immediately requested a copy of this new contract that we were not aware of nor did we sign. My sister received the forged contract and noted some changes in the agreement. My sister called Plaza Kia dealership and spoke with Julio Guina and was informed they knew her well and accused her of trying to bring the vehicle back many times within the year and having her boyfriend's mom co-sign the car. My sister informed them that they had the wrong person and pointed out that she moved out of NY in June 2015. It was apparent that no resolution would come from directly trying to work things out with Plaza Kia dealership. Therefore, we decided to retain a lawyer to work out a resolution with Plaza Kia dealership. As of 10/14/2016, we were informed by our lawyer that Plaza Kia dealership is refusing to take the vehicle back nor take responsibility for committing fraud. We are appalled and hope that no one else has to go through this!
