Dealership Sales Review
The short version is I was promised a price via email by Alex at Springfield Acura (which price was the same as other dealers, but we went there because we had a previous purchase from there). When we went to get a deal finalized, they jacked the price up and said 'too bad, so sad.' In more details: We had previously purchased from Springfield Acura and went back when our current lease was up. On Fri, Jul 8, 2011 at 10:55 AM, Alex emailed me with a specific price. I went to visit him the very next day and he told us he had two MDXs in stock and we'd get a deal done. I asked about lease pricing. He gave me the numbers, and I brought them home to run them in a lease calculator. They didn't work. When I came back the next weekend (8 days after the original email from Alex), he said, in so many words: 'sorry, we can't give you the original price, even though we 'based' our lease price on it.' He then pulled out a manager who explained that even though we were a previous buyer and even though they had quoted a specific price, the best they could do was a full thousand dollars above their number. Needless to say, we stormed out and made a deal with a different NJ Acura dealer.
