Costco Auto Program

We went to this dealership to take advantage of the Costco Auto Buying Program. We did not make an appointment as we decided to initiate the process since we had the Internet/Costco Program Manager's name and contact information. After driving 30 miles, we were cordially escorted to the cubicle of Chris H. and introduced. Upon meeting Chris H., our first impression of him was cordial and respectful. We stated that we were there to view prices of Honda Accord Coupe's through the Costco Auto Buying Program. Chris did not ask for our membership card as he began searching pages in a binder with several vehicle prices on several pages. We were given a price that seemed exceedingly high and to make matters worse, we later found out that the price was not for the vehicle we wanted. The program states that we are allowed to view the vehicle invoice in order to compare this to their program cost. Costco Auto Program is set up to eliminate the hassles of the negotiation process. It is to be hassle free!! The duration of what was to be a seamless process was overly complicated with price negotiations between Chris, the sales manager of whom we never met, and my wife and me. We were never offered a view of the dealer invoice with respect to the vehicle or price we were shown. We had to negotiate to bring the price down. We had compared other prices prior to using the program. We used the Consumer Reports New Car Price Report and knew what the dealer paid for the vehicle including any dealership incentives including holdbacks, manufacturer incentives and customer cash back. We did not divulge this information as we felt it was unnecessary and it was to our advantage in seeking moral and ethical dealership automobile buying program managers. We left the dealership confused and dissatisfied. Confused because there was to be no negotiation and we were to be offered the invoice. Whether or not the vehicle of choice was available we had to endure a first time buyers headaches. I have been there and done that. This is exactly why we preferred a buyers program. I filed my dissatisfaction on the Costco Auto Program Customer Service Survey. I will not return to this dealership nor will I recommend it.

Dealer Response
Dear NewBuyer28, I wish to inform you that you have posted your review to the wrong dealership review page. We believe you were shopping at Findlay Honda Henderson (in the Valley Automall) but the page you have posted to is for Findlay Honda Las Vegas (In the Northwest). We share the common name "Findlay Honda" but we are separate dealerships. We do not have anyone named Chris H. on our staff. Our reputation is extremely important to us and we would ask that you remove this posting from our dealership review page. We regret that you had a negative experience and if there's anything we can do to help feel free to call us at (702) 982-4200.
