Centennial Subaru
Dealership Sales Review
I didn’t end up buying a vehicle from Centennial Subaru, and after the experience I had, I never will — and I’ll be telling others to avoid this place too. I stopped by to check out a lease deal on the Subaru Solterra, which Subaru was promoting at the time. The vehicle itself was just okay — pretty base-level, nothing that really stood out. Still, I was early in my EV shopping process, and wanted to see what was out there. I initially worked with Angel Weick. He was decent during the first test drive, but once I made it clear I was still comparing options and not ready to commit, he brought in Sales Manager Carlos Parker — and that’s where things took a nosedive. Carlos immediately pushed the typical aggressive sales pitch: “What’s it going to take to get you in this vehicle today?” I repeated that I was just starting my search, this was only the second dealership I’d visited, and I wasn’t ready to make a decision. That didn’t stop them from applying the pressure: “You need to do this right now because ___…” “You won’t get a better deal than this…” “I’ve never given anyone a deal this good.” Subaru’s “best” offer? $2,000 down and $240/month on a $39,915 MSRP Solterra — for a base-trim vehicle with no standout features. I told them I had to check out another EV offer I’d been discussing with a different dealership, especially since the value seemed significantly better. They didn’t take that well. Carlos insisted, “They’re lying to you,” and said I was being misled. He loudly cursed, pulled up a screen and practically shoved it at me, saying: “That’s horse***! I worked at that dealership — they’re hiding the numbers! You’re not getting that! This is a once-in-a-lifetime deal, and if you walk, it’s gone forever!”* I stayed calm and told him: “I don’t need an EV. I don’t need a second vehicle. But I have another offer and I need to check it out.” His final response? “Your loss.” Except it wasn’t. The other dealership — Findlay Honda Henderson — was the exact opposite. No pressure. Respectful. They answered questions, helped compare the options, and then exceeded their own offer: I leased a $53,150 Honda Prologue Touring for $1,500 down and $215/month — a larger, more premium, fully loaded EV SUV at a lower price than Subaru's basic offer. They even included extras like a level 2 charger and installation credit. I also visited or spoke with Team Chevrolet and Jim Marsh Kia — all were respectful, honest, and helpful. Only Centennial Subaru acted like my time and preferences didn’t matter. Bottom line: this dealership was rude, pushy, and completely dismissive once they saw I wasn’t falling for their pressure tactics. If you're shopping for an EV or anything else, go literally anywhere else. Subaru may be a decent brand, but this store doesn't represent it well.
