Attempted to construct a deal on a used car over the phone. I got ahold of John, told him my scenario, provided the information required(VIN numbers, miles, payoffs etc.) I was called back an hour or two later stating that I needed to bring my cars in to be evaluated, but our figures should line up pretty close. I left work early the following business day, I arrived and was greeted by John, who then took me over to the Mazda store, where their vehicle appraiser then insisted that my car had illegal exhaust etc. (It just passed MO safety and emissions weeks prior) I was then told I would need to fix the items with my car that would "cost them $10,000.00" before they could work a figure on the car. Long story short, I asked for information before I showed up, the sales person didn't follow through on his part and just told me to come in, insisting that we could make a deal. Then they bullied me out of their dealership, insisting I repair my exhaust(it has aftermarket mufflers) even after I offered to install the factory exhaust. Can't say I've ever been treated this way at a car dealership before. Stay away!
