Marty’s GMC
Dealership Sales Review
My fiancé and I went to Marty's to test drive a 2013 diesel truck that was listed online. We fell in love with the truck, and, though we were highly disappointed with the trade-in value they gave us, we agreed to purchase the truck under the condition they take care of the service engine soon light that was on. Looking back now, I wish we ran far away after the low trade-in value of our original truck because after we shook hands, it was a consistent downward spiral full of empty promises. Over the course of the next 14 days, we went to the dealership 5 times, always waiting a significant amount of time before being taken care of even when we had appointments. We were told we were all set with the paperwork only having to go back two days later. We were told the truck was ready to be picked up only having to wait at the dealership 1.5 hours because it was still being worked on when we arrived at the agreed upon time - it hadn't even been cleaned yet! We had an appt to go back the following Monday for a detail and sticker, and the dealership was closed for a funeral; we never received a phone call letting us know! Once we finally were able to drop the truck off for a sticker & detail, we received a call 3.5 hours later saying the truck was ready. Upon arrival, we were told the truck wouldn't pass inspection, so the truck continued to stay at the dealership an additional 3 days (another wasted drive). 14 days into the deal, the truck we purchased still wouldn't pass inspection, so we decided to cancel the entire thing. Again, we went back to the dealership to sign paperwork to cancel the deal and take back our original truck. We were told they would take care of the title and re-registration of our original truck. Two days later, after not hearing what the status of the registration and title was, we called and were told they have to "track down the title." Another day and another phone call later, we were asked to come back and sign more paperwork to get the registration taken care of. 5 days after canceling this deal, we had to go back to Martys for the 6th time in order to get our registration and title. No one at Martys seems to have a smart brain cell to put together to get things done appropriately! It was a 19 day nightmare!! And because Martys gave us back a dirty title of our original vehicle, after purchasing a new vehicle from a much more efficient dealership, we still had to deal with obtaining a new title for our original vehicle (even though I had argued this with the sales manager that we needed a new, clean title for our original trade-in). They just didnt seem to know the appropriate ways to handle things. We talked to 5 different people at the dealership over the course of this ordeal and were never able to get anything settled. No one seems to know the proper way to deal with anything. There's no such thing as communication or compromise or organization. While I'm sure the dealership was adamantly working on the truck at the end, they were never able to resolve the issue to any sort of satisfaction. When I say we regret ever stepping foot in the place, it's a major understatement to our true feelings. I HIGHLY recommend people steer clear of this dealership! Worst car buying experience ever!!
