Traded in a used car for a new one. Trade in had a salvage title, clearly marked on the title as salvage. We made the deal and 14 days later received a call we owed them money because we tried to pass a salvage title as a clear title. When asked how could it be fraud when we handed the manager a clearly marked salvage title, he said they never look at the title and we should have told him. He proceeded to threaten us with a lawsuit and said we committed fraud. We paid the extra money because we did not want to cause a problem for the salesman who is a close family friend (he was innocent.) Not only are we honest people who would not commit fraud, but we assumed they could read the title and knew it was a salvage vehicle. If anything, we are guilty of the ignorance that they do not read titles. If you are making a trade in here be sure to tell the manager everything and do not assume they read titles or anything else, and the manager will not accept any fault on his part.
