Kerry Mazda of Florence
Dealership Sales Review
3/22/2008 Talked me into 2007 by not being upfront on difference between 2007 & 2008 features. I said I wanted same features, but was told only difference is lower cost of 2007. In actuality, while the cost is the same (not less), there are more features available in 2008 and in the case of Oxmoor Mazda in Louisville, KY, they offer a Bose system and moon roof for same cost. While I asked about engine size, the salesman navigated the question well and I was led believe the two model years had the same engine. I could go on an on. Steering was out of alignment as noticed on the way home. Was told to call SAT Company to activate SAT radio. Finance manager and sales person made a supposed mistake in entering the pay off amount (small but sneaky amount of $140) incorrectly so I would get billed for it later. They also did not break out the cash down amount like every other car purchase Ive made (but did not catch this time). My finance company had a delay because of this as well. Finance manager used high pressure sales to try and sell me after sales options such as fabric/paint protection, etc. that I told him upfront I did not want. He continued to run his mouth while my level of frustration rose. 3/23/2008 Cant prove it, but next day noticed a scratch on both the left and right side of car that was obscured by early evening darkness and parked next to other cars. Drive side passenger door sticks open and closing. Missing tabbed user guide (cheat sheet on car features). 3/25/2008 Tried to make appointment with Kerry Mazda to fix out of alignment condition. Called sales rep and he didnt have a clue if I was to pay for the repair on 200 miles odometer car. He said hed get back to me but didnt (poor post sales customer service; something they touted while trying to sell me the car). Circumvented salesperson and called the service department directly only to get an answering machine several times. After several calls, I spoke with a person only to be told they are only open for oil changes on Saturday (not customer friendly hours). Further, service could not tell me if the alighment would be covered under warranty. Had enough incompetence and called Oxmoor Mazda (local) and was given quick and accurate info and they took me the very next day, although they did offer weekend service hours too. They said absolutely no charge, come on in a far cry from the treatment I received at Kerry Mazda. 3/25/2008 Tried to activate the SAT radio, but was told that I dont have the installed equipment as salesperson (Nate Henry) indicated I did. Called Kerry to talk to salesperson about his miscommunication to me on the SAT radio; hes out today. Called back and asked for a sales manager for same issue and was told they all were in a lengthy meeting and someone would get back to me. Based upon experience with Car/Kerry Mazda already, I would recommend the car, but NOT the dealership. 3/26/2008 Salesperson called me to apologize for his miscommunication attributed to his being a new salesperson (buyers should inquire how long their salesperson has been one and if they are fully versed in car features ahead of the sale). He acknowledge there are differences between the years and that he was not fully versed in the satellite radio options (installed, versus post-sales). He said let him know what he can do to rectify the situation, but must have realized what I was going to ask next and said he could not obviously put in new radio, but I could call him any time for help. Help with what! Funny!
