Dealership Sales Review
I stopped into the dealership and let them know that I was looking for a specific year/make/model vehicle. I let them know that I was willing to put down 2000-3000 down payment, and the trade in of my current vehicle. I was immediately show'n a vehicle two years newer than what I was looking for about about 10K more than what I was offering. I pointedly refused to even look inside the vehicle, more less drive it and explained that I'm firm on what I'm willing to finance. After a few other no-gos I was given a printout of the exact vehicle I was looking for. I was told that the vehicle would be at the dealership later in the week and that they'd call me that morning to set everything up. As a consumer this lead me to believe that everything was in order and that I'd be all set. The truth of the matter was that the vehicle was in auction, that they wouldn't even be able to bid on it until the following Thursday and that there were no guarantees. That Thursday I got a text telling me that the vehicle sold for more than they thought and they weren't able to get it. In the mean time, I turned down two other vehicles because I was under the impression that everything was good to go with Glenbrook Dodge. So I guess the lesson learned here is that if you can't Dodge it... Run like hell and do business with a dealership that doesn't lead you on with false expectations and lies.
