Technician did not check car

Technician said Immediate service was required on Cabin Air Filter. I replaced it less than a month ago. If he would have actually looked at it, he would have seen it was new. It was an example of a dealer technician not checking items and to inflate the repair bill.

I would like to start by apologizing for the lack of explanation when it comes to these filters. You are correct in saying that the technician did not physically look at the cabin air filter. The Cabin air filter is recommended off of time not sight because of the disassemble process. This filter is not something you can do a quick visual inspection on. When this filter gets replaced it is a twenty minute process to do so. Collin did not see that the filter has been replaced here at our dealer, so the recommendation was made by time/mileage. My tech’s are also trained to look at a customer’s history before repairs and recommendations our performed. Unfortunately, we are unable to see a history of work performed somewhere else. However, that would be nice. So sometimes we rely on the customer for their prior history. I’m sorry Collin may not have explained things properly at the time. I assure you my team is not here to sell or recommend service that are not needed, but we as others do get rushed sometimes and make mistakes. I apologize if for the experience you had with Collin and hope you will return to Sunrise in the future. Please feel free to reach out to me to discuss anything further.
