Napleton's Arlington Heights Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram

I test drove a Jeep on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, expecting to purchase this Jeep from this dealer. The price was $31,000. Once we sat down and talked about the cost of the Jeep, trade in for our vehicle, suddenly, the price jumped to over $35,000 and they could not explain why. They just kept asking if this number was close to what I was wanting to pay. I kept asking how they came to that number and was given several 'fluff' explanations, which did not add up to over $35,000. Finally, the Sales Manager came over and said that every car sold has an extra fee of $1,499 added to the price and that it is listed on every window sticker of every vehicle. When we test drove the Jeep, the window sticker was removed for visibility, but when I asked to see it, I was told that I should have read the window sticker. Then they also added a fee of $2,495 for 'reconditioning' of the vehicle and that they were required to recondition every vehicle - oil changes, new tires, new brakes, etc - that was used or put into service. NO WHERE on any of their advertisements on Edmund's or other car buying apps did I find these two costs. And why would a 2018 Jeep with 12,000 miles need so much reconditioning? They kept saying I was getting a 'NEW' Jeep ... but yet it has 12,000 miles and you are charging me for reconditioning the Jeep??!! I was extremely disappointed and I refused to pay these added fees. I gathered my things and then walked out. Today I noticed the price has dropped TWICE since I test drove it ... yet they were not willing to budge on these 'extra fees' or what I call hidden costs. Buyer Beware.
