Dealership Service Review

1 out of 5 starsservice Rating
Terrible customer service
Written by Fraz on 03/09/2025

I rarely write reviews, but my experience at Rick Case Kia was so frustrating and unprofessional that I feel obligated to warn others. The service I received was completely unacceptable, and unfortunately, this wasn’t my first bad experience with them. I dropped off my car on Thursday afternoon for a scheduled early morning Friday appointment to diagnose a check engine light thinking this would help them check the car quickly. Despite this, my car wasn’t even looked at until after the weekend, on Monday. When they finally diagnosed the issue, I was told it was covered under warranty and would be repaired at no cost. Since the car was already there, I requested an oil change and was told it would be ready by Wednesday. When I arrived to pick it up, I immediately noticed the check engine light was still on, and the engine stuttered upon startup. The service advisor, who previously assured me the car was “good to go,” was nowhere to be found. After escalating the issue to the service manager, I was told they needed to run another diagnostic, which took 1.5 hours while I waited. After the third diagnostic, the service manager claimed I needed an injector flush, spark plug replacement, and induction service for $550 (with discounts it should be $250). Expecting this to fix the problem, I agreed, only to be told I had to leave my car for another day. When I tried to ask questions before leaving, the manager was more focused on watching videos on their phone than addressing my question and brushed me off to the original advisor. Now, the advisor resumed contact, a complete nightmare. It quickly became a frustrating ordeal. He refused to take phone calls, only responding via poorly written texts, making communication unprofessional and difficult to follow. Instead of speaking directly with him, I was forced to leave messages with his coworkers, only for him to text back immediately after as if he had been available the whole time. The next day, I received a text (not a call) claiming I now needed four new fuel injectors for $1,189, bringing my total to $1,973 with taxes. After a “discount,” the total was $1,770, but the math didn’t add up. Hidden fees were clearly being added. When I escalated the issue to another service manager, they tried to push me into opening a credit card to pay it off, which was a major red flag. The money was not the issue, it was the lack of service. I decided i’ll take my car to a trusted mechanic instead. However, I still had to pay for the spark plugs, injector flush, and induction service before picking up my car from Rick Case. The original estimate was $550 with a $300 discount, so I should have paid around $250 plus tax, yet somehow, my total came to $579 in order for me to pick up the car, proving they didn’t honor the discount. Final Thoughts: This service center took over a week to properly diagnose my car, failed to honor their discounts, and tried to overcharge me at every turn. This isn’t my first bad experience either. On a previous visit, I found: - Oil spilled inside the engine bay - The oil cap left sitting on the engine I do not recommend this service center. They are unprofessional, lack transparency, and fail to ensure quality control. If your car is no longer under warranty, take it to a trusted local repair shop instead. You’ll get better service, fair pricing, and a far more professional experience
