Matthews-Currie Ford
Dealership Sales Review
A few miles after leaving the dealership on the day of purchase, I had a Tire Pressure warning light, although all tires were at 35psi. Much more concerning, 100 miles later on my way home, I had an Engine Overheating warning light. I stopped, and after letting the car cool off, I needed to add 1 gallon of water. The service department at my local dealership did a coolant system pressure check and found that there was a leak around the water pump, which they replaced for a cost of $2,808.42, fortuitously covered by the extended warranty I had the premonition to purchase along with this SUV. Upon leaving, they informed me I also needed to replace the active grille shutter, at a cost of $1,752.63, not covered by the warranty. It is obvious to me, that as minimum, Matthews-Currie Ford did not perform a professional evaluation of this vehicle including an adequate road test before putting it up for sale.
