Dyer Chevrolet Fort Pierce
Dealership Service Review
Well, I had a bad experience last summer when I took my new 2500HD in for abnormal tire wear. The tech checked alignment then took it for a "test" and basically drove my truck like a hotrod causing contents to be turned over and Onstar to indicate numerous "Hard Accelerations" on a 3 mile drive. Fast forward to now. I had to add coolant to the truck in October to get the "Low Coolant Warning" message to go away. I have been monitoring since then and noticed a drop in the coolant level indicating a possible leak or consumption. I decided to give Dyer another shot and took it in. The tech had the truck for about fifteen minutes and then asked me to walk over to it with him. He explained a few things about the coolant reservoir and fill procedures and apparently topped it off. He turned the truck back over to me and I went inside to get the receipt. On it was indicated that he did a thorough inspection; vacuum tested system; test drove for 3 miles; second vacuum test; etc. The problem is, the vehicle never left the dealership and I really don't think he had time to do (2) vacuum tests. I verified the truck never left via Onstar driving activity. My concern was that if there was a problem in the cooling system it didn't really get checked out. It was only topped off to hold me over a few months. Seems like the tech cut some corners here and embellished the notes. This really stinks because I guess I am gonna have to drive to the Vero Dyer (20 miles) whenever I need something done.
