Foundation Kia
Dealership Sales Review
I recently purchased a vehicle from Foundation Kia in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, and feel compelled to share my concerns about their business practices—and their troubling lack of response to my follow-ups. The dealership promised $17,000 for my trade-in if I financed the car rather than paying cash. However, the contract listed only $15,700. When I questioned this, they explained the difference was offset by “effective sales tax savings.” At the time, I was overwhelmed by the process and didn’t fully understand what this meant. After reviewing the paperwork at home, I realized the tax savings were a benefit of state law, not something the dealership provided. This misrepresentation left me feeling deceived. Additionally, a $799 charge for a LoJack product was included in the contract, which I never requested or recall discussing. This added to my frustration with the dealership’s lack of transparency. I contacted the dealership to propose a fair resolution: a $1,449 refund to cover half the trade-in discrepancy and the unwanted product, as well as confirmation of no prepayment penalty for the loan. Despite assurances they would review my concerns, I’ve been met with complete silence. This lack of communication raises serious questions. If the dealership were on solid financial or legal ground, wouldn’t they want to address customer concerns promptly and transparently? Their failure to engage leaves me suspicious about the state of their operations and their commitment to ethical business practices. I’m sharing this to caution others about my experience and will be reaching out to consumer agencies to question whether these practices are ethical—or even legal. Transparency and accountability are essential for earning customer trust, and unfortunately, Foundation Kia has failed on both counts.
