dishonest tactic

hate this dealership now...dealt w/ the internet sales guy, Mario Rodriguez...he told me he would knock off $200 from the lowest price I've gotten so far from other dealership. Then when the car got on the lot, he gave me a $500 higher then the quote he gave me because there was an extra package that only costed an extra $176...so he jacked up the price to make his big commission. Watch out with this dealership! they'll probably give you a quote but then change their mind right when you walk in the door or even when the available car gets on the lot. I plain out told him that he should go and try to sell it to the next person then because I don't want to deal with dishonest dealers. And don't even believe what they say on their testimonials section...anybody can make that up and just post that stuff up there. sheesh.... you'll be a sucker to deal with these guys... If i can give them no star, that's what i would rate these guys...

So Much has changed. Since we have changed ownership to a John Elway dealer, every manager has been replaced to reflect his philosophy and the new sales manager has weeded out every sales associate who could not or would not live up to our new standards. In fact, for 2009, we are rated #1 in customer satisfaction in District 2 are in the top 10% of the nation!!! Change comes hard, but you'll find John Elway's Manhattan Beach Toyota is a gentleman's dealership where you will be treated with the respect and honesty you deserve.

I'm changing my view on this dealer...after I wrote this review, the dealer apologized and said he'll honor the deal. I actually went the next day and he did honor the deal and we bought the car. so it was good that the salesman honor the deal and gave me a better image of this dealership. they even offer a year's worth of car washes and oil changes if you buy a car from them. not bad... I live like 30 miles from the dealership, but i would drive that far to get an oil change..not sure about the car wash. hahaha

Sunday 7/13, Toyota of Manhattan Beach dealership posted commercial for Toyota Camry LE $18,995 in LA Times Cars section. Being an attractive deal, we drove down and made our intentions very clear from the beginning and agreed with the dealership that we were interested ONLY if the selling price is as advertised. We test drove two Camry’s before we finally agreed to buy one. After filling some paper work we were finally told the 2 car we drove were not part of the deal and there was a 3rd car (the color they knew we did not like). This pissed us off, as we had spent 3 hours test driving and discussing talking before we agreed on the car. There was never a hint of price being other then the one advertised. And to make the matters worse – they told us to LEAVE!! (Point-blank). I’ve no clue till now why. I was also told that they will not return our paper work that had all my personal information, because we test drove THEIR car. I had to raise my voice and vehemently demand for the paper work before I was finally returned. I was in a state of shock after this entire experience. I was never provided with a reason nor could myself think of one, for the way I got treated. Not that I’m not familiar with car dealers tactics but this was a dis-heartening practice I had witnessed. Was it racially motivated or what? :) no idea. I what to report them but don't know where? People involved were Mario & Don (Unfortunately, I don't others who were involved) There are lots of car-dealers in LA, I would avoid them if possible. They proved to be waste to my time & energy.
