I originally came here to have my 2016 Kia Soul worked on in the service department. As they were taking my car off the tow truck I had a salesperson talking my ear off if I ever thought about trading it in. I was considering because I was getting sick of the constant work I was having to put into a 3 year old car. Definitely was undecided about it and was just focused on trying to figure out when my car would be repaired and what was wrong with it. While talking to the service department, this man from sales came over and took my ID card from the service guy and said “Oh I’m just gonna make a copy of this!” I didn’t think anything of it. Then he came and asked me for my social and I was like “Wait why are you asking me for my social?” And he said it was a credit application and wanted to see if I would get approved for a new car for trade in. I told him I just want to see what was wrong with my car and how bad the issue was. He stood there talking nonstop how the repair was going to take forever and it probably wasn’t gonna be covered under warranty and it’s going to be a big hassle and why not just get a new car?! To shut him up I told him I would at least browse some cars while they were checking my car out. He told me they found an engine problem with my car and it would be months and months until I had my car again and it would cost a lot of money and eventually convinced me to get a new car. It later turns out my car actually had a recall notice for the same exact issue I brought it in for and it definitely would have been covered by the dealership. Fast forward, the guy showed me a 2019 Kia Forte and I fell in love. Knowing that I wouldn’t have a car for months like he said just wasn’t an option for me. I agreed to buy the first car he showed me,as I was feeling a bit desperate just to have a car. I feel like he took my weakness as an advantage. Okay whatever I eventually got the car. Fast forward to almost 2 months since I got the car and I’m getting collections calls and emails from Kia Finance saying I owed money on my 2016 Kia Soul, the one I traded in. I had agreed to a payoff and signed my car over to the dealership. It was not my responsibility anymore. I was receiving letters and phone calls nonstop about late payments on a vehicle that wasn’t even mine anymore. I tried telling Kia Finance the situation and they said I had to get ahold of the dealership. I talked to Jason,my finance manager. He said he had mailed the payoff check on April 19th and was received April 22nd by Kia Finance. I traded in my car March 11th. He waited over a month to send the check. He put it off for so long that I had to stress about late payment notices showing up on my credit report. Very very disappointed in how unprofessional this was handled. I will not be returning here for my services or recommending this dealership to anybody.
