Volvo Cars Carlsbad

Maybe car-buying has changed, but we were dreading the experience. When our old BMW bit the dust, though, we had no other choice. We did all the research, test drove a lot of cars and talked to more than a few salespersons. In general, few were of the stereotypical "pushy" type. Carlsbad Volvo was the dealer we visited to test drive the new S60 T5 (which, not to spoil the surprise, we ultimately bought). We explained that we just wanted to test-drive, that we were in comparison mode, and that we would NOT be purchasing that day. Robert, our salesman, was more than happy to answer our questions, take us on as many test-drives as we wanted, and left us alone when we needed some alone time. We left the dealership that day with a good feeling about both the car and the dealership. When we finalized our decision to purchase the S60, we went back to Carlsbad Volvo. We told them that we were comparing any deal they would make us with a deal that our credit union's car-buying service could offer, and we had a really good idea of the price we wanted to and should be paying for the model equipped as we wanted. We asked to test drive a few more models for comparison only -- even a T6, which momentarily turned our heads until we determined that it was more car than we really needed. When time came to discuss price, we came to an agreeable number with very little of the old "I have to talk to my manager" stuff, and I felt as if these guys really respected both our time and our intelligence. I would absolutely recommend Robert and the folks at Carlsbad Volvo to friends and family. We felt absolutely zero pressure, and Robert followed up both before and after the sale to make sure we were satisfied with our experience. It helps to be an informed consumer when you walk into a dealership, of course, and we were. But even if you didn't do the level of research we did before-hand, I think you'd be in good hands with the dealership. I have no experience yet with their service department, but as to their sales and support staff, I'd give these guys 5 stars. All dealers should be so pleasant and helpful.
