Toyota does not support special orders, but a dealer can try to do a dealer swap. They were able to do this for me on a car that was not yet built. It did require my buying a couple of minor features I didn’t need, but the discount I received more than covered the features. Total time from my first contact to delivery was about 2 months— including Xmas and New Year’s. This was after another dealer strung me along for about 4 months. I guess the car I wanted was “too unique” but shouldn’t have been, since it matched the configuration Toyota uses at Auto shows and for the press — Camry XLE in Ocean Gem with a grey interior and premium plus package. Dealership was very professional and went over the basics on delivery, but I will need to spend some time learning and customizing the dash, entertainment system and other features to my liking. I feel confident that the dealership and salesperson will help me if I run into specific questions. I suggest using YouTube for in depth how to’s on the dash, entertainment system and general features.
