great used car deals at mercedes-benz of calabasas
Written by jjjjjohnson on 12/03/2014

recently bought a 2001 lexus gs430 from mercedes of calabasas...turned out to be a great car...started looking at their website ad about 3 months ago...along with one of their sister dealerships 101 acura west under their corporate autonation dealerships...autonation has a lot of dealerships under their leadership...and i was looking for a car under $10,000 dollars...my research material were as follows: 2014 consumer reports annual auto issue..you can get it on ebay or a book store reviews from edmunds.com reviews from carsurvey.com and carcomplaints.com they had a 2001 lexus gs430 on sale for 8699.00...right in my price range...drove it...it was great...but had my poker face on...showing no emotions....got it for 8300.00...a slight discount..because they said they didn't like to change on their price...but i saved a little...i have had the car for a week and its been great...there is a few issues...like a rear door not locking....and the rear speakers are bad...not a big deal...will get those things fixed soon...overall a great solid car...breakdown on deal: price...8300.00 document processing charge..80.00 emissions testing charge.......50.00 ca sales tax ....758.70 regrist and tags..$0.00...prior person paid the tags for 2015...great regrist/transfer/tilting fees...15.00 state emissions certification fee.....8.25 total for car.....9240.95 down payment 1000.00 amount finance 8240.95 miles on car 100,300 bank wells fargo 6.99 interest rate PROS of the dealership: great used cars you can monitor their websites great agressive salespeople they do the minimum safety and re-conditioning on their vehicles saves you a lot of time vs going out on craigslist to buy a car from the public.. safety of dealing with a one stop buy a car dealership... many banks to choice from...at least on their part fill up the gas tank let you leave the car you drove there with on the lot til you can come back to pick it up CONS of the dealership: a lot of dog cars mixed in with their clean cars will have to settle for their financing bank to get the car very slow after they make the deal very slow finance guy want you to buy options and packages you don't need slow porters that get the car ready for you AS IS sale expensive warranties that are not worth the paper they are printed on in conclusion: research..research...the car you want inspect the car up and down back and forth they are not your friends they are there to make money so don't depend on them to get a great car if you get an older car...make sure it passes the consumer reports reliability reports on it...should be at least above average reliability in the consumers report annual auto issue..no less accept their hi-finance bank rate...just to get the car...you can always refinance later at another bank..because there is no penalty for paying off a loan early with another bank also my budget was low at under 10,000 dollars...but if you can move up to say...10,000-13,000...they even have a better selection of cars and suvs...
