Midway Nissan
Dealership Sales Review
While opinions will always vary, mine is no different. I have been the guy who had a low credit score, who was a high risk, and who had to spend it all just to get into a pre-owned vehicle to fix my credit. My most recent experience was not that case. My experience differed when I went from looking for a Frontier to owning a new X-Terra. I arrived at 3pm, as scheduled, and met the internet sales guy Jose for about 8 seconds before handing me to Joe Boggs, my sales rep. Joe and I spent some time chatting about my current trade, the payoff, discussed the inspection, and then headed out to check the lot. I knew I wanted out of a car and into a truck. Who knew it would be an SUV? Now, the first thing to know about going to a dealership is arrive when they first open, otherwise you are there as they are locking up. Buying a car is no longer a 90 minute process. It hasn't been for at least 10 years. If you are going to a dealership, plan for a 6 hour adventure, and finish your meal as you are pulling up. In & Out was my last meal in my old car. As for Midway Nissan in particular, Joe Boggs was outstanding. He showed me all around the lot, TWICE at my request as we were looking for the perfect ride. Started in a Frontier 4x4, and ended in an X-Terra, test drove both. Once Joe and I had it all figured out, the dance began. I was at the low end, Rita Sommer at the other end. After about 15 minutes of honest and casual conversation in the leather chairs of the lounge area, we hit an agreed price and down payment. That was all the quick stuff. Now comes the wait. After two episodes of Chopped on the TV in their lounge area, Pat Fairley was ready for me. After reviewing all of the additional packages and pricing, and declining on all counts, Pat was still looking for a way to get the final payment lower to build in the gap insurance to keep me at the arranged price. My budget was extremely important to me, and he understood that. Never before has a service been willing to adjust their costs to afford me an extra service. When it was all said and done, at 9:03pm. the last of my items were moved from the old car to the new, and Joe even stuck around, at this point 3 hours after his shift had already ended, and even climbed into the SUV with me to go over a few features, inspect for any possible issues that the Service dept might have to address, and connected my cell phone to the Blue-tooth connection in the car. Now, I can make and receive calls without ever taking my eyes off the road. Press a button on the steering wheel and speak like normal. While most Dealership visits are seldom fun, and often keep us up way past our usual bed time, every once in awhile, you find a group of people who want to help you accomplish your goal in getting out of the old car, and into the new one. Joe Boggs, Rita Sommer, and Pat Fairley did more than any other dealership team I have ever experienced. I was offered something to eat, provided with a cold bottled water before my current one was empty, allowed to relax in the lounge and watch TV while they did all the hard stuff. I would absolutely recommend Midway Nissan (which is exactly 53 miles from my home in Maricopa) to ANYONE who has decent credit (above 625), a small down payment, and the time to spend with a group of people who are not just serious about sales, but serious about people too. Call today and ask for Joe Boggs. He works 6 days a week and was an absolute pleasure to do business with.
