Tell me you don’t want to service my Tacoma without telling me
Written by 09/14/2023
onCall dealership to replace rear bearings and seals on 2001 Tacoma. They tell me flat rate is $1,200, so I bring it in. They look at it, all day, and call me late to say it will be $2,200 plus tax, cuz brakes were soaked with gear lube. No [non-permissible content removed], brakes have to come off to press off and on bearings, spacers and seals. So I buy Toyota parts from camelback Toyota dealer, $400 and pay local machine shop to press off and on parts ($142) and do all the work myself in about six hours. Right Toyota always makes me feel dirty and used.
