I was in search of a used vehicle, I was shown a 2006 Ford Escape. They told me they could get me into this vehicle for $100.00 a month. I test drove it, It seemed to drive well, lots of cargo space, I liked it. I then brought it to my mechanic. I discovered this vehicle had mis-matched tires (this vehicle has all wheel drive - this puts a lot of stress on the drive train and leads to very expensive problems) Any decent mechanic / salesmen would/should know this. Also, while the outside of the vehicle looked great, the bottoms of the doors, rocker panels and rear wheel wells were on the verge of exploring in rust. In fact the bottoms of the doors actually had holes already. Now get this....after telling me the could do $100.00 a month (Kelly Blue Book in Excellent Condition is $7,778) There asking price $11,000!! Now this was bad enough, but upon returning the vehicle from a test drive, one of the Managers says to me "You almost hit me last night!" Now I'm thinking huh? Oh! He's joking! Is he joking? He's smiling....Hum...and as I begin to laugh, he says...You were pulling out of _______." Now, I'm making sense of this and I'm thinking to myself: "Oh you're the big white Ford truck that was speeding, in a 25 mph zone center of town, lots of kids around, small shops, lots of people walking, it is also very narrow road and was in my lane, as I was pulling out of ________." No joke people. What I actually said to him was "I didn't almost hit you." He just sat there with this smug look on this face...I'm thinking this guy has some issues. So, I move on and address the vehicle I just test drove, I tell him the Escape is a rust bucket and has mismatched tires which for all wheel / 4 wheel drive is a huge no, no. This same guy then swivels around in his chair as though I never been standing there. Really? You don't want to talk about that? The salesman then shows up looking a bit confused. I must give the salesmen some props as he seemed nice enough, but he needs to take the job [non-permissible content removed] who supervises him.
