Laurel BMW of Westmont
Dealership Service Review
I had my BMW towed in. They diagnosed it as having a bad IVM (Integrated Power Supply Module) as being bad. They replaced it. Then charged me a 2nd diagnostic fee to tell me I needed new spark plugs and coils. This raised suspicion for me because I had just replaced the plugs and coils about 16 months ago with top-of-the-line parts. They insisted the ones I had were not the right parts, but I did confirm in three different places with three other mechanics and the parts stores that they are the correct parts. Upon towing the car back to my house and initiating this job myself to replace the coils and spark plugs I found that they left one of the coils unplugged And they also removed one of my spark plugs. I replaced the one plug that they removed or broke and plugged back in the coils and the car runs fine. It’s crazy to me that places like this can remain in business and scam people left and right. Obviously they know what they’re doing. They wanna make more money and so they mess your car up and try to tell you it’s thousands and thousands of dollars to fix all because they want to play games and steal people’s hard earned money to make quotas. I’ve owned two BMWs and my wife owns one currently. I was thinking about upgrading to the new X5 but after dealing with the service department and seeing how unethical they are, my family and I will never stand by BMW’s brand again.
