Don't buy from Friendly Chevrolet - Read my experience
Written by Jmh0424 on 03/15/2017
DO NOT BUY FROM FRIENDLY WITHOUT READING THIS! I am severely disappointed with this place. The "salesman", Derik Hymans, was not even discreet when attempting to "tag team" me into purchasing they're stupid extended WARRANTY with his co-workers. Your team even caught me hearing it! After telling him no, it still appeared on the first draft of the loan agreement. They don't care about you. Spiffs and commissions... Forget humanity or basic decency. Ask your questions ahead of your purchase, because there is 0 chance you will receive any calls back, from anybody. Multiple emails, voicemails left unreturned. Once the sale is made, you are unlikely to get questions answered... Heck, or even a call returned if you're lucky. If you win the lotto, you might get an email from the most unprofessional email address ever (@aol.com or some private yahoo), or maybe a text with the bare minimum or low resolution image of the paperwork you requested for a month. As far as the Pre-owned Certification... Well... They're full of $&+!... All fluids are checked and filled? DEF filled within 400 miles. Fuel filter... 41% at 1300 miles since purchase. Oil is at 46% at 1300 miles since purchase. Detailing before purchase? Well that means a quick automatic car wash... The soda or tobacco spit on the interior will be as is. So then let's get into the third party licensing fees. REQUIRED to leave the lot for out of state purchases. Told a titling specialist would get everything taken care of. After two hours at the courthouse, I was finally informed by the dealership that I needed further information that they hadn't previously provided to me and I had been begging for all along. Keep in mind I've been assured they frequently do out of state sales and know Missouri. Apparently, they don't. After another hour at the court house, I sent all additional information they needed within 13 days of purchase. No license plates received. Day 29 tomorrow. I purchased a trailer and was getting the plates licensed yesterday. (wow, easy) They told me the paper had just been received yesterday. I sent everything weeks ago! What do I do if I need the truck and the plates haven't arrived?! Better call my untrustworthy friends and Un-friendly Chevrolet. But would anybody answer the phone? No. Would any of them be a decent person and call you back? No. They act like a bunch of people hiding behind text and email after the sale. Amazing the reception before you buy the car. Oh, and I'm talking about voice mail messages left for Derik Hymans, Used Sales Manager (dude sells 20-30 cars a month! Less than 1 a day, but is just so busy he won't return calls! Great manager. Great leadership. Great integrity!), multiple calls to the titling dept that went unreturned (although were at least trying to help, calls went unreturned in leau of email responses which were entirely unprofessional after a return call was requested) and even a voicemail to the GM Bill! I like the truck. I do. But shoot, this is just unprofessional, shady and irresponsible. I would never purchase a car from this place again. I'm old school and like to trust people, but I do not trust this place. If it wasn't a Duramax, I'd be more concerned. I hope you take this as a very serious warning. Buy elsewhere
