Worst Experience Ever! Luxury Car Prices, Used Car Treatment
Written by spock1234 on 09/08/2017
Do Not Buy from this Dealership! They are [non-permissible content removed], who do not deserve your money. Two weeks ago, I purchased a CPO 2017 A8L 4.0T from Fletcher Jones Audi in Chicago. Given that it was a CPO vehicle purchased from a 'Magna Elite' dealer, I did not go over it with a fine toothed comb. I relied on the 300-point check and Audi's high standards for CPO vehicles to be ensure that I got a 'like-new' car, as promised in Audi's CPO literature. I noticed crumbs in the back set, and dried coffee in the cup holder (??!!), which I asked them to clean while I completed the paperwork. Their finance guy lied repeatedly about 'problems' my pre-approved loan from BOA trying to convince me to take out a high-interest loan through the dealership. He was speechless when I called BOA in front of him and got confirmation that he was lying. That should have told me what kind of people I was dealing with at this dealership. When I got home and did a complete inspection, I found that in addition to being filthy, the car had several defects/blemishes - from a cracked skirt under the front bumper, and damaged leather on the rear seat, to gouges in the center console plastic and wood trim. It was clear that the car had not gone through Audi's required 300-point check, or undergone any sort of reconditioning prior to being sold as a CPO vehicle. The 300-point checklist they gave me was a lie. Neither the salesman (Omar) nor his boss (Brandon) told me about the damages to the car. I immediately took the car back to the dealership and asked them to fix the issues. They agreed to fix the broken bumper, but refused to fix any of the other issues. They claimed the car was detailed, but it was filthy with food residues when they returned it. I provided photos showing the condition of the car and gave the dealership multiple opportunities to make it right, but they refused. The GM of the dealership, Dan Flood, did not even have the decency to speak to me directly. Instead, he hid behind his salesman and service staff. Now, I am stuck with spending $5000 out of my pocket to fix the defects int his car. If this is how they treat a customer buying their flagship sedan, I can only imagine how other customers are treated. I cannot recommend this dealership to anyone. If you want to buy an Audi, I recommend the Audi Exchange in Highland Park. They seem to be decent and honest. [HTML removed]

Dealer Response
Dear Venkat, I understand your sentiment on the situation and my apologies that the car was delivered to you before it had gone through the proper inspection and reconditioning. Completely our oversight but we took the car back and repaired more than just the bumper and everything passed Audi's CPO standards. In addition, we reimbursed you for the detail you obtained at your local dealer. I sincerely apologize that this was your experience but I have been honest and straight forward in my correspondences with you in regards to the timing it would take to fix your vehicle. Dan Flood, General Manager
