Porter Hyundai
Dealership Sales Review
Product: 5 out of 5 Salesperson: 5 out of 5 Mike M. Overall Buying process 4 out of 5 After Sale Treatment: 1 out of 5 Have always been a Toyota owner and finally took a chance on Hyundai and another Dealership...forgoing not only the toyota but also the dealership and relationships built over many years. To be fair an objective my salesman (Mike) was great even after things went sideways. The general process was not atypical got there at 3pm and left as they were closing at 9pm. This was not my choice but it time from selecting the vehicle, appraisal of trade, loan paperwork, and the salesperson juggling other customers who were scheduled. i understand the dynamics and was patient throughout. when i left at just before 9pm i advised my salesperson i would come back on a different day to do the walk around and allow him to show me more thoroughly some of the features. i did this because a) it had been 6 hours and he still was finishing with another customer. i left in the dark of night and the dealership was not the brightest lit. the following day i noticed a scratch in my windshield on the passenger side the ran contrary to wiper blade motion and no damage to the body of car. the scratch was such that in could not be noticed at night time. called dealership the following day to identify this. brought the car back in. they DID agree to replace the windshield. i brought my car in to be left overnight and took a loaner from them. the following day i go a pick my car up to discover a significant chip out of the hood of the car. the manager hesitantly says ok we'll fix it. i take to the dealerships paint guy (outside contractor that comes once a week). he was nice but simply dabbed a little paint and advised to let it dry for a few days. i advised the color DID NOT match..he said it wont initially. GUESS what still has not!!!! call my salesperson who in turn puts me to the night time manager Keith. (During the day i purchased i dealt with Tim who works daytime, and then Keith in the late afternoon and evening). Keith advises me albeit with an attitude that Tim advised him that i had walk around the car the night i drove off the lot. First off....Keith was there not Tim...not even sure why he would make this statement. second as i mentioned earlier there was no walk around and the lighting was such that a proper walk around would not be effective. Then Keith proceeds to NOW say on both points (windshield scratch and chip in hood) could have been done by anyone...intimating ME. That 'We" have done a courtesy by replacing the windshield and sending to their paint guy (who actually did a horrible job and i would have been better off making a novice attempt to fix this). Keith's demeanor throughout this phone was quite different from the night of sale!!!! i had already submitted my survey to Hyundai and i regret that!!!! i called Hyundai to advise them of the situation and if it was possible to update my survey. They "Hyundai" advise they can not compel Porter or take any action...including updating the Survey. SO>>>>>>Here's my WARNING!!!!! a) if you do decide to buy from Porter or ANY dealership.....NEVER EVER take delivery at night time. b) if you ever take your care for service or ANY reason....do a walk around and consider taking a quick video on cell during walk around. apparently this not a crazy idea because a Dealer you cant trust can claim anything they want and you have no recourse. c) know that the smile and friendly demeanor will not be present after the sale. d) i Strongly suggest NOT to purchase from Porter. Again, if you are mistreated and can not trust a Dealership then how can you ever let them touch your car for Service or anything else. YOU CAN NOT. i have never experienced this at my Toyota Dealership period..... p.s. i can not ignore some of positive reviews posted on this site and the only thing i could think of is that anyone who has my kind of experience did not take the time to post this here....maybe on the Hyundai survey which will carry more weight but i still felt that my experience my make a consumer to rethink where they purchase their next vehicle. IN Addition..NEVER FORGET: BUYER BEWARE
