2023 Acura TLX 4dr Sedan AWD w/A-Spec Package (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 10A)
This car is fun to drive. I went wild and chose the Performance Red. Gorgeous, great looking car. No complaints there. I have not had any recalls or mechanical issues. I chose a Honda/Acura for the reliability. I would say so far that is holding true but I've only owned the car for 7 months. This car was to be an upgrade from my 2013 Chevy Malibu which I loved! I've never owned a Honda … so maybe the issues that rub me wrong are already well known. Or maybe I'm a princess?!! I read the reviews, rating, pros and cons. That con about the infotainment system is no joke. God awful and unsafe. I had to start wearing glasses to see the screen. The touch pad requires a lot of attention. The radio only allows for 6 favorite preset channels. You do end up using the touch pad a lot more than you think. I am not a Siri user. I do not want my car hooked up as one with my phone. I do have the technology package and it definitely makes that hard to not accomplish. I am a radio/music person and this set up makes me cry. Hate it!! Not to mention me just getting with the times and all the beeping and screaming the car does. I then came to find out I do not have remote start. WHAT!? a $48k car doesn't come with remote start? I live in cold winters and this is unacceptable to me. Had to talk my husband into adding. Next, the wind shield wipers. Another unsafe situation here. The wipers are tucked down under the hood. Sure looks nice, but they collect ice and snow. Guess what, you can't clean them off. You can't pull them up to wipe off because they hit the hood edge. The defrost does not reach them either. They sit in a pocket collecting weather. So mid snow storm I have a lot of freeze/icy wiper moments. I asked in an Acura group and someone mentioned a heat pad for the wipers. Guess what, again this model doesn't come with it. How does the high/mid level TLX not have any of this standard stuff? My mind just explodes left and right with the lack of basics this car doesn't have for such a price tag. My Eco Malibu had all these "bells and whistles" and ran forever. Really makes me sad and I do not enjoy the car like I want to. If you're a car person and those items aren't a thing for you, then this is your car. Drives wonderfully!
