I never knew viscosity changed, thanks! You just keep reading and you'll be surprised what you can learn from not just me, but most informed Toyota owners as well.
I don't think the 1.8l from the current Corolla can. But in 2006 Corolla offered a XRS model that had a larger engine ( same one that was in the Celica GTS ). It was a 1.8l unit that was rated at 164 hp. It came with a six speed manual transmission. It was only offered in 2006 and discontinued because of lack of sales . Perhaps you can find one ... I have a 2006 dark blue Toyota Corolla and have a paint defect where the roof of my car is chipping off. My hood is starting to peel as well as the trunk of my car, and my side top of my doors are starting to fade.
Yes, perhaps I did misunderstand you. No, I did not use anything that would have done as much damage to my car, as of what I am dealing with right now. Through much investigation and research that I have done regarding my car issue, the bottom line is that with my car only 5 years old, I should not have the paint defects that I'm dealing with right now. You have a 2006 and you are pleased - that's correct. Models prior to 2009 were much better than current models. Mack, it has to do with 'focus' in the market place. Television time. Training resources. For 6-9 months everything was focused on the Tundra. As you know from late 2006 until the Highlander arrived nothing came out of Toyota that didn't have something to do with the Tundra.
Well, if the weight gain yields benefits in structrual rigidity - which according several reviews, it has, then I think it an acceptable gain given that the new Corolla is still one of the lighter vehicles in its class. I think if you turn the fan on (whether vent, a/c, whatever) it minimizes it slightly. But a "real" solution would be great. I just dread having to take it in and try to describe what it sounds like, and them not ... Read More
Maybe one reason is that a February '08 launch for a 2008 model makes the car ineligible for the various 2008 car awards. So might as well call it a 2009. Launching mew models early in the year is pretty common these days. Toyota has done it, e.g. Camry and 2003 Corolla. DCX has done it, e.g. 2005 minivans. Hyundai has done it, e.g. 2006 Sonata.

Unfortunately you have to drive the thing. I test drove a 2006 Corolla and it was the worst car I have ever driven. The Steering Wheel is at an odd angle, the engine sounded like an angry lawn mower and the engine had no torque, it just lurched until i got in on the Freeway. I fully expected a smooth nice handling car after reading press reviews and was shocked at ... Read More
Cool. Good news.
Good news bcorolla. Time will tell if they'll have to Locktite the track bolts.
I have great news. After speaking to the DSPM I thought I was stonewalled. The agent at the Toyota Experience hotline said that I was free to go to another dealership to get another opinion. And that I did. I went to Wondries Toyota and they quickly assessed the problem. They brought out the Master Technician and did a road test. Within an hour, I got my car back and lost ... Read More
if you analize the toyota design strategy you will find a pattern that follows this way. Lexus box modelo 2000 to 2005 tranfer the design to corolla 2003, then corolla 2003 tranfer the design to yaris o echo 2006. Now is the same.... Lexus and Camry tranfer the box to corolla 2008, and then in 2011 corolla tranfer the box to Echo. This design have some logic if you think about ... Read More
The DSPM IS the face of Toyota to the customer so he should have met with you face to face even if he couldn't tell you what you wanted to hear. Have you duplicated the noise for the SM? Have you spoken with Toyota National Customer Assistance Center about you issue ? 1-800-331-4331
"operating as designed". sort of like the kiss of death. duplicate the issue in a number of other cars and it's suddenly a "normal characteristic" no matter how absurd it seems... geesh. quality. doing right by the customer. this is what toyota strives for, right? why don't you have someone you think is mechanically savvy drive the vehicle while you listen from the back seat location, and as the car is ...
