2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA250: 5,000-Mile Update

We hit the 5,000-mile mark in our 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA250 just before heading out on a trip to Scottsdale, Arizona to drive the new 2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan.

So far the little Mercedes has been running pretty well, aside from two weird, very-early-on issues: a check-engine light and a squeaky Comand screen, both of which occurred when the car had less than 1,000 miles on the odometer.

The first scheduled maintenance isn't until 10,000 miles.

Are there any disadvantages of doing an early 1st oil change, sooner than the manufacturer recommendation to "catch all the metal from engine break-in" (apart from the extra expense)?

I've had the bracket and the actual screen itself replaced already and STILL have noises. I noticed the noises occur when the back of the screen reaches a certain temperature. I've had no luck getting it fixed and I think others are going to notice the same issue as summer approaches.
