2013 Infiniti JX35: I Just Wanna Sing

2013 Infiniti JX35

As you know by now, I have the first-generation iPod Touch. Most of the cars in our fleet have started to ignore it. Our Jaguar XF still plays it for me. But even our Honda CR-V, which I wrote a post about how well it operated, has started to ignore it.

I thought I was doing a good thing by upgrading its software. But now it's like it doesn't exist when connected to a car.

I thought our 2013 Infiniti JX35 would play it for me. It has so many audio options including a USB connector instead of a dedicated iPod hook-up. But when I connect, it plays one second of a song, then just stops.

Now, I'm not saying this is the fault of any of the cars in our fleet. I obviously need to get a newer iPod. But I think a generic USB connection should be able to play anything I hook up to it.

Any suggestions?

That's absurd. The basic principle of technology is to somehow make our lives more enjoyable by either enhancing it's better aspects or by reducing the time we spend on the mundane. These software "updates" do neither. What they seem to do (to me) is outdate old technology to force you to buy newer. That is not advancement, that is greed.

Aux in Donna. You'll just have to suffer along without steering wheel controls and the song details on the steroe or instrument screens.

I feel your pain, Donna. I have never forgiven the cellphone companies for "upgrading" their networks such that my Nokia 1100 would no longer work. It was a simple phone that was tiny with a mono screen and a battery that lasted for ever. Every phone since has felt like a brick.

Get a 64Gig USB thumb drive, I got one at Best Buy for $50. I put all my music on it and it just stays in the car.
