- What We Know
- The 2009 Ford Fusion Hybrid is expected to go on sale in mid-2008. It will most likely use the same drivetrain as the current Ford Escape Hybrid. That setup combines a 2.3-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with a 70kW electric motor that can power the vehicle on its own at low speeds. Prototypes spotted during hot weather testing showed no signs of a revised design on the outside, so the Ford Fusion Hybrid will look much like the standard model.
- What Edmunds.com says
- More advanced than the Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid and better looking than the Prius, the 2009 Ford Fusion Hybrid should sell well if gas prices continue to climb into 2008.
