2013 Ford Focus ST

This sporty little hatchback with the turbo four-cylinder has quickly become a favorite of our editorial staff. Driving the 2013 Focus ST is never boring. And the car is practical, too. It has handled all sizes and shapes of cargo in its handy hatchback.

A day of autocrossing resulted in a new set of tires. But aside from some media gremlins, the Ford Focus ST has been a great addition to our fleet.

What's your favorite feature in the 2013 Ford Focus ST?

I continue to be impressed by how quiet my ST is on the freeway, when I'm not hard on the throttle and the sound symposer opens ... the lack of road and wind noise gives the vehicle a good quality impression. But most impressive to me is the ride and handling. I've never driven a FWD vehicle with turn-in as crisp and sharp as the ST.

I'm looking to buy a new car one year from now, and I really like this car. But I work in software testing and software bugs really bother me. I get angry at my Kenwood deck when the bluetooth craps out or when I disconnect the battery and have to redo all my settings. Because of this, I am worried the problems with My Ford Touch could potentially ruin my experience with this car. As I said before, I really like this car and want it to be my next ride, but does anyone think I would be making a mistake? Can I live with the annoyances of MFT? I guess my real question is 'how often do these issues come up?'

Just out of curiocity - given the fact that vast majority of long-term review posts of this car go over this or that flaw - is it still fair to call this car editors favourite? Just from reading those posts I get overall picture that this particular hatch is not very well liked/received here

Now see, I get the opposite impression. Dislike of MFT notwithstanding, I get the idea that they really, really like the ST at Edmunds.

@rjett: You can get an ST without My Ford Touch. And I think you don't need MFT on most any Ford. But I have a feeling you will always go with the highest tech trim. Did you know there is now a refrigerator that has a built-in television? I think you

  • My favorite is the "fun-to-drive" feature. There are more sophisticated, competent and more expensive performance cars but......this one lit my driving fire. I take the long way on errands; and shooting out of a clover leaf and carving a good mountain or back road is amazing. Thank you Ford - this is my first American car in 38 years.
