SEALY, Texas — Hennessey Performance Engineering has released a tuning package called HPE300 for the 2013 Ford Focus ST.

John Hennessey, president of HPE, purchased a 2013 Ford Focus ST a couple of months ago as his daily driver, and recently added a few go-fast bolt-ons that he's releasing to the public.

The HPE300 package includes a cold air intake that adds about 14 horsepower and 7 pound-feet of torque. The Texas tuner continues with an ECU reflash that upgrades output another 36 hp and 44 lb-ft of torque, and completes the package with an optional Magnaflow cat-back exhaust that gives the hot hatch an additional 7 or 8 ponies.

The 2013 Ford Focus ST comes out of the factory with an impressive 252 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. This package should increase those figures to about 310 hp and 320 lb-ft.

Hennessey says the kits will be limited to only 300 units. The standard package costs $1,495 and includes the ECU tune and intake, while the Magnaflow exhaust will be an optional $695 upgrade. The kit also includes serial-numbered dash and engine plaques as well as an HPE300 badge for the rear.

Edmunds says: Leave it to Hennessey Performance Engineering to improve upon an already spicy 2013 Ford Focus ST.
