2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray: 5,000 Miles

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

We picked up our long-term 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray at the factory in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and after Kurt and Dan drove it home, it had 1,200 miles on the odometer. The Corvette has been in our garage for four short weeks, and the odometer now reads 5,000 miles.

In that time, the Stingray's only issue has been a flat tire. It isn't due for its first service for another 2,500 miles.

The Vette is simply fantastic so there's no doubt in my mind that we can keep up this breakneck pace of 111.76 miles a day. And if we do, my fancy calculator app also tells me that our 2014 Corvette Stingray will leave our fleet with over 40,000 miles on it. Looks like it's going to be an eventful year.

I look forward to seeing repair costs. Hopefully it maintains its affordable-sports car status with respect to maintenance and repairs.

Taking a huge trip right after the delivery skewed the numbers. I have no doubt that this car will be driven a lot, but there's almost no way that you'll be done in six months.

I doubt we'll be done in six months either. But here's the math @quadricycle: The Corvette got 5000 miles total including road trip, but it had only been here in the office for four weeks after the 1,200-mile mark. It got 3,800 miles in 4 weeks. 3,00 miles x 11 more months at that same pace = 41,800 (plus the original mileage). Credit that to the excitement of a new car and the desire to drive it, but I like the chances of high mileage.

@tlangness: I should have paid more attention to the numbers in your post. You're right, the delivery drive wasn't even that large, and you guys really have been driving the wheels off of it since then. I haven't seen many negative posts about the Corvett

there wont be any repair cost the only service in 40k miles is oil changes and corvette brake pads / clutch last over 100k miles if not tracked. everything else is covered under warranty.

@keenanj: Chevy includes four routine maintenance service visits for the first 2yrs/24,000 miles on all 2014 Chevrolet models. However, tire rotations are excluded on Corvettes (tires are unidirectional and don't really need to get rotated.) Edmunds sh
