I agree with you on the CTS. 2010 DTS: two color changes, http://media.gm.com/us/cadillac/en/product_services/r_cars/r_c_DTS/10index.html Heard that the next DTS is being modified so it can handle batteries (hybrid model). On the Lincoln side, the MKS is no replacement for the Town Car. It rides like the CTS, has low levels of refinement, but does have more room inside.

Back Again friends. I still have the '03 DeVille base model. 65,000 miles and runs perfectly and even still smells like leather. No problems whatsoever. The warranty runs out this month but I only drive it on trips now - probably 5,000 miles a year so I think I'll keep it another year. I'll look for an '08 or '09 DTS in the spring of 2010. I just took advantage of ... Read More

Unless I have to go out and drive in bad weather I just stay home since I work at home and don't have to commute to an office. The idea of spending some serious time with the owners manual is a very good one, even an hour would probably bring very good results. I have considered a 300C as a replacement for my DTS but suspect will not be trading till ... Read More

  • New DTS

I understand that a new DTS is planned in 2010 or 11. They might combine the STS and DTS. I hope that Cadillac won't reduce the size of the DTS. If I'm going to end up with a mid-size DTS when the model change happens then I'll go with an Avalon or Lexus for sure. There are a lot of mid-sized models to choose from but there are presently very few ... Read More

Now that I have had my 2006 DTS for close to three months I can say that I like the car better than my 2004 Deville. It has a much firmer suspension and the power delivery seems much more abundant and responsive than did the 04 Deville. On the negative side the 2006 DTS gets about 10% lower fuel economy than the 04 Deville. The 2008 DTS has no major changes ... Read More

You are right. The 2010(?) DTS will be on the Zeta platform. It will be interesting to see what Cadillac does with the STS. The CTS is a big seller but the DTS still outsells it, probably because of the commercial market - limosines, rental cars, etc. I've never seen a CTS for rent but they are probably out there. I frankly don't see anything wrong with the FWD DTS especially ... Read More

The Autoweek pictures are the Sixteen show car I think. What the actual V12 production car will be is probably still on the drawing boards. In fact, if they are planning on using the Zeta platform for the V12, then even the platform is still in the design stage. The V8-V12 Cadillac will be very expensive, probably 75 to 150 thousand dollars. DTS sales have been dropping from over 100,000 in ... Read More

Cadillac already will have a stretch version of the DTS planned for later this year so you are probably right. Looks like the Zeta platform can be larger or smaller. It will be interesting to see what the car looks like. I'm not impressed with the front end on the DTS. My '03 was a lot better looking. I may just keep it until the new design comes out.

Perhaps the Zeta platform can be stretched. Interesting to note that they will shortly be offering a stretched DTS -8" longer. I don't like rear wheel drive cars after owning a Mustang which was hell on wheels in the snow and rain but I do like Cadillacs. If they try and downsize the DTS I'll start looking around at other cars.

The zeta platform is similar to what Holden uses. It is also the platform that will be used for the Camaro. I don't think that anyone (except Cadillac) can say what a zeta DeVille will look like, or what the size will be. However, I will guess that the price range will remain more or less in line with current pricing.

I agree. They don't seem to know what they are doing. There will be a change in the DTS in 2010 or 11 so says people on this forum. I looked at the resale value of my Impala and Cadillac now vs a year from now and the sale of both of them now will buy me a Certified '06 DTS. It won't next year this time - I'll lose $6,000 ... The skyhawk was one of the J-bodies along with chevy cavalier, pontiac sunbird (or J2000?), oldsmobile firenza, and Cadillac Cimarron. I bought the skyhawk because it had fuel injection (only buick that did) and also had automatic climate control as an option; the cimarron did not have the auto climate control. The current DTS is on a platform that will terminate at the end of the current production models; the DTS ... Read More
