Subaru knows they gave me a defective On-Star chip that drains the battery
Written by 12/09/2023
onI bought a 2019 Subaru Outback, and this car would kill the battery ("parasitic draining" as they called it). There was a class action lawsuit - https://www.premiersubaru.com/service/subaru-battery-settlement.htm . I have issues with this on two accounts: 1) I was never notified of the class action lawsuit; they can send me marketing emails but can't let me know that a class action lawsuit is ongoing and 2) the real cause of the problem is the On-Star chip in the car for which I had to pay in order to leave my car for four days without driving it and not having the battery dead. I won't buy another Subaru in my life based solely on how they have handled this issue.
