They Could Have at Least Bought me Dinner First!
Written by 04/17/2012
onWhere else can you go to look at a used vehicle priced reasonably at $16,877, trade in your current vehicle, and receive an email the next day with a loan pre-approval in the amount of $20,000, which is the price this dealership had graciously financed on my behalf for the vehicle...
I didn't sign...I'm blonde, but far from a dumb one.
They (I'm not sure who exactly, but someone at the dealership) kindly added on $2400 for a warranty, $800 for group life insurance, and a fee of $900 in order to get the financing. (For those who don't know, dealerships get "kickbacks" or "finder's fees" for hooking up financial institutions with would be consumers.)
Salespeople make a very nice profit with the commissions they make from the warranties and group insurance policies.
When the sales rep called me, he said we were "all set" and he would be sending me the info via email later in the afternoon.
I wasn't going to be home in the afternoon, and was disappointed when the email came after I was out. I tried to access it through my phone, but was unable to open the attachment.
So I sent it to my husband who opened it and laughed.
The moral of the story is this:Stay away...stay far away.
I had heard some stories about this place, and had an unfun time about 20 years ago there, but I decided to give it a shot.
That was stupid.
Geez, they could have at least bought me dinner first..
